Day 1:ARRIVAL DAY IN PARO.

Before your landing, at Paro International Airport you will explore the beauty of Bhutan from the window of an airplane. This will be your one of the most exciting scenic flight ever you have experienced. After arrival, you will feel the cool and fresh air as you step your foot in the land of happiness. The peace and quietness of Bhutan make you more inspiring! Our representatives will greet and welcome you with your name and transfer to your hotel. If time support then you will be taken to exploring one of the most popular sites of Bhutan ‘Taktsang Monastry’ (3,120m) located in Paro. Overnight stay at hotel in Paro.

After breakfast proceeds on to visit the archeological site ‘Drukgyel Dzong’ which is one of the famous forts of the victorious Drukpas. It was built in 1649 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. We can see the most wonderful view of Mt. Chomolhari “mountain of goddess”.

Along the way, we get a chance to explore the ancient Landmarks in Bhutan. Khichu Lhakhang revered as one of the most splendid holy shrines with its amazing 108 temples built in the Himalayas. We head towards the ‘Ta Dzong’ after lunch which is located above ‘Ringpung Dzong’ in Paro. Ta Dzong (watchtower) renovated to house the famous national museum of the kingdom in 1968. It suffered damage due to the earthquake. We will observe the historical Thangkha paintings, weapons, textiles, ancient artifacts, and household objects. Now, walk to the famous Paro Dzong which is the popular fortress of the collection of jewels. It is the seat of the district administration, the monastic body, and the social centers of their districts. It is an impressive site where we can see the lives of prominent saints. After strolling around the Ringpung Dzong we return back to the hotel at Paro for a night's stay.

Morning wake up! After having a lovely breakfast, make sure that you have to pack your trekking shoes. Our destination for today is Shana Zampa. First, we drive up to Drugyal Dzong at 8,464 ft where the road ends and the walk begins with a downhill walk. After a while, we gently climb up through the rice and millet terraces, and a narrowing valley. Along the way, we can explore the area of apple orchards, forests (which eventually opens up to a valley), and some quaint farm hamlets. We have to cross the army post of Gunitsawa at 9,219ft before reaching our campsite. Overnight at tented camp.

After leaving the Shana Zampa we will continue our wonderful trek towards the Soe Thangthangkha by following the Paro River. We are pretty lucky to get this beautiful opportunity to trek within the Jigme National Park which is the largest protected area in Bhutan. Our trek will provide us the most fantastic experience of ups and downs through pine, spruce, and oak forests. After lunch, we continue our trek towards our today’s destination walking through the colorful rhododendron forest; it makes our trail more enjoyable and pleasurable. Finally, we reach at the campsite which is located in a meadow with a stone shelter at an altitude of 12,303ft after crossing the bridge over Pa Chu. Overnight at tented camp.

Our early morning trail ascends towards the base of Mt. Chhomolhari. Then, we walk along the Paro River above treeline where nature provides us the most panoramic view of Mt. Jichu Drake (6, 794m). The alluring view of rhododendrons and juniper bushes makes our walk more interesting. On the way, we will get a chance to see yaks and herders settlements; we will be served a lovely hot lunch at a herder’s camp. After a short walk, we will reach the camp at Jangothang at an altitude of 13,254ft and explore the amazing view of Mt. Chhomolhari and Jichu Drake. Overnight in a camp.

Today, we will have full day leisure for acclimatization or interest to explore some of the amazing areas around the bases of Mt.Chomolhari, Jitchu Drake. We can explore the amazing Himalayan Lake if we take a hike to Tsophu and there are chances to encounter the grazing yaks and blue sheep on the way to Jichu Drake peak. After observing the dazzling peak of Bhutan; return back to our camp. Overnight in camp.

Today, we’ll head toward the pass-through wide grassland. Along the route, we may get chance to see yak herders in their camping tents according to the seasons. After crossing the bridge, we start climbing up to a ridge and acquire an alluring scenic view of the snow-capped peaks. One of the best moments of our trek is to stand in the center of the greenery with the White Mountains in front; it makes us feel very proud. Now, take some moment for experiencing all the views and descend walk for a while then walk in almost flat land until the climb to the Ngye La Pass (4,870m/15,970ft). After crossing one of the highest points of the trail we reach Lingshi camp (4,000m) in a stone shelter for a night stay. Along the way, we will observe the impressive sight of the Lingshi Dzong and the magnificent view of the peaks.

Today we rest for acclimatization at Lingshi. We can take a rest or make an excursion to Tsokha Lake (4,500m). It takes approx. 5 hours of gradual walk. Tsokha Lake is the base camp of Jichu-Drake; from here we can view the wonderful white peaks. We can get a chance to see lots of Musk Deer, and Blue Sheep en route.

The trek goes through the ascending to Yeli-La Pass at 4,820m. From the pass, we can explore the glamorous views of Mt. Chhomolhari, Mt. Tsherringang, and Mt. Masagang on a clear day. It takes approx. 8 hours to reach Sodhu (4,110m) from Lingshi (4,010m). The trail from Yeli-La Pass to Sodhu camp (4,080m) is a steep downhill.

Our trek winds up & down smoothly following the Thimpu River. We can see the beautiful rhododendrons, juniper, and alpine forest en route; wonderful cascading waterfalls and cliff-facing rock makes our trails more interesting and pleasurable. After having some hot and lovely lunch we’ll head our walk towards the Barshong for the night sleep in the camp at an altitude of 3,600m.

The route slowly goes down through colorful rhododendron, amazing conifer, birch forest, and grassland to meet the Thim-Chu. Along the way, we will explore the streams, the river then we cross a steep cliff to Dolam Kenchu. Approx. 6 hours of our walk we reach today’s destination (3,428m) where we can camp overnight.

Wake up with the beautiful morning! We’ll begin our trail from Dolam Kencho to Dodena through forests, climbing up around 500m and down around 930m through a small pass. Approx. 4 hours of continual southern direction walk we reach Dodena where a team from Thimphu is waiting for you to receive. Overnight stay at the capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu.

Morning wake up! Early morning, we will go for visiting one of the famous sites of Bhutan ‘Memorial Temple’ which is the first stop of our city tour. This place is popular for worshipping Buddha & to take blessing from him whenever a new baby born in the family. It was built in the memory of the third dragon king of Bhutan. The second visit of the day is Folk Heritage Museum located in the capital city of Bhutan; it was established in 2001. This museum provides us a glimpse of the traditional Bhutanese culture and their way of life, a collection of antique household tools which really attract all the visitors. The national library will be another visit where we can explore all the historic books and manuscripts;  antique collections of textile can be observed in textile museums; Zilukha Nunnery and Changgangkha Temple are also the famous sites of Thimphu. Now, we will drive to the highest viewpoint from where we can explore the amazing view of the whole city, Thimphu and while returning, we get another great chance to visit the famous research center ‘Takin’. It is a mini zoo where we can see different wildlife preserving. Now, back to Thimphu and have some evening tea then drive to Paro for a night stay.
