Day 1:ARRIVAL DAY AT PARO DRIVE TO THIMPU

Before you step your feet in the Paro International Airport, Bhutan; you will see the dramatic view of the Himalayas and the wonderful scenic view from the window of an airplane.

After your arrival at the airport; you will feel the cool, clean, and fresh air of Bhutan is warmly welcoming you. Bhutan is such an amazing land where you can explore the ancient architecture, arts, cultures, and lots of monasteries with different mystic histories. You can feel a peaceful environment in Bhutan.

One of the challenging airports in the ‘Paro International Airport’ of Bhutan due to the narrow runway surrounded by the high Himalayas. Our company ‘Asia Outfitter Inc’ representatives will pick up you from the airport and settled you at your categorized Hotel in Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan. It will take 45 minutes of drive from the airport to reach Thimpu for a night's stay.

You will have some time to get fresh and you will go strolling around some important places of Thimpu which is a beautiful, colorful, and interesting small place; here you can explore wonderful rice fields, magnificent landscapes, green mountains. Visit ‘National Memorial Chorten’ which is one of the most recognizable religious landmarks of Bhutan. It is blessed in the memory of the third king who is regarded as the father of modern Bhutan.

Another popular site of Thimpu is ‘Tashicho Dzong’. This is a fortress that is used as a seat of government and as a monastery in the modern age. Strolling around the Dzong is unbelievable; where you can explore the 1000 Buddha’s are painted on the wall. After exploring Tashincho Dzong you will continue your tour towards the next famous sites ‘Thangka Paintings’of Bhutan which represents the life of Buddha. It is made on cotton, silk, human skin. After observing the Thangka Paintings gallery your guide will take you to the hotel for a night's stay.

This morning, you will visit the post office where you can get a chance to explore a very nice souvenir shop with lots of amazing Bhutanese stamps. National school of traditional arts and crafts; this is another popular site for visitors in Thimpu. This is the primary institution of traditional arts and crafts established by the government of Bhutan to protect their prosperous cultures and traditions. Moithhang Takin Zoo is one of the interesting sites of Thimpu where all the visitors can observe how the Bhutanese government preserves their curious national wildlife.

Now, the time is to travel towards the Punakha. Approximately, 4 hours of drive you will reach one of the wonderful cities, Punakha. Along the way to the Punakha; you can see a kaleidoscope of vegetation, cascading waterfall, beautiful flowers, magnificent mountain vista, and wonderful meadows. Continual drive after 45 minutes you will reach the popular Dochula pass (3,150m) where your guide will give you some moments for observing; from here you can view the dazzling snow-capped Himalayas. This Dochula Pass is known for its bountiful species of exceedingly beautiful flowers has excellently built 108 stupas around the mound.

After exploring this popular Pass you will stop for a lunch break in a small village where you can see rural farming and get the opportunity to walk through the paddy fields to the Temple of Fertility- Chimi Lhakhang. Then drive towards the Punakha Dzong and return back to Thimphu for a night stay.

Wake up in the early morning, have some lovely breakfast then drive for half an hour and begin hike for the popular sites ‘Tigers Nest,’ the Taksang Monastery. It takes about 5 hours round trip. Tiger’s Nest Monastery is one of Bhutan’s renowned spots. This place is very popular for its extraordinary. It is captivating in its beauty and location. It is a small collection of buildings located on a high cliff (2,950m/9, 678ft) surrounded by a fantastic scenic hill covered with green forest. On the way, you will visit Drugyel Dzong which has great historical significance. If the weather supports you then you can get a chance to view the amazing peak of ‘Chomolhari’ which is known as the mountain of the goddess (7,329m/24,029ft). ‘Kyichu Temple’ can be observed through the way. Early morning wake up and have some hearty breakfast with hot syrup of tea/ coffee. After having breakfast enjoying nature you will start your tour to visit another renowned site of Bhutan named ‘Rigpung Dzong’ means ‘Fortress of the heap of jewels.’ It was built in 1644 during the period of Zhabdrung who was a dynamic political and spiritual leader. This fort was used for defending the Paro valley. Explore the farmhouse then drive to Haa through the ‘Chelela Pass’ (3,988m). From here, you can observe a breathtaking view of Mount Jumolhari. After arriving at Haa you will get some time to explore the area and return back to Paro for a night stay in Hotel.
