Day 1:DAY 01: ARRIVAL DAY AT PARO

As your flight nears Bhutan, you can enjoy the stunning beauty of white peaks, view of the eastern Himalayas scenery including the world's highest peak Mt. Everest, amazing Landscapes, and particularly thrilling is the portion through the Bhutanese foothills and the interesting landing. While you landed at the Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by a Bhutanese representative with your name and they will transfer you to your categorized hotel at Paro for a night stay. After time to get refreshed, they will brief you about your program and detailed itinerary. After lunch, a professional guide will take you to explore the Paro which is a small town located in a wonderful & peaceful upper part of the Paro valley. Our first visit will be the Drukgyal Dzong which was a ruined fortress and Buddhist monastery. This Dzong was built in 1649 by Tenzin Drukdra to commemorate the victory over the Tibetan invasion from the north in the early 17th century.

Our next visit is the impressive watch tower; also known as Ta-Dzong which is built in 1656 above the huge Paro Dzong. Now, it is used as the National Museum where we can explore the precious works of art, customers, Armour, and many other handy craft materials which reflect the culture and traditions of the country. A glamorous white peak view of Mt. Chomolhari (7,320m) is can be observed from the northern end of the valley. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, we will begin our hike for around 4-5 hours to a historically rich cultural icon, Taktsang monastery which is Bhutan’s popular monastery located at 3,180m. It is built into a steep rock’s rock face. We can observe the large statue of a tiger engraved into the rock in the half of thousand Buddhas. There is a faith that the great saint Padmasambhava came here to meditated for 3 months. This famous classic ‘Paro Taktsang’ and also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest Monastery is a famous sacred site for every Bhutanese to visit once in their lifetime.

We will get a great chance to explore the truest beauty with gorgeous lights, a golden roof, and golden idols inside this wonderful monastery which magnetized all the visitors with its beauty.

Lunch will be served in the restaurant halfway to the monastery. We can get a chance to explore the pine forest throughout the route, and experiencing the scenic beauty makes our hike more fantastic and enjoyable. After spending some moments here at the Tiger Nest Monastery; stroll back to our hotel at Paro for our night sleep.

Wake up! After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we begin our scenic drive towards the capital city of the ‘Happy Kingdom’. It takes approx. 2 hours of drive from Paro to Thimphu the capital city of Bhutan. We will explore Simtokha Dzong on the way which is the oldest ‘castle monastery built-in 1629.

On the way, we will get our first impressions of these amazing peaks and tranquil kingdom as well as the opportunity to feel experience, and observe with our own eyes that how Bhutan implements their own rules to protect their nature and success to be the only carbon-positive country in the world.

After arrival at Thimpu, the guide will settle us to our categorized hotel then we start our guided sightseeing at Thimpu immediately after lunch. Begin with the wonderful handicrafts Emporium where we can explore the impressive arts, crafts, and textiles. Visit the handmade paper factory and Archery ground. now, back to our hotel for our overnight stay.

After a lovely breakfast, we’ll delve deeper into Bhutanese culture in the capital city of Bhutan. We begin the day with a visit to the weaving center, Buddha point, which provides an incredible 360-degree nearby view of complete Thimphu. Our next visit will be the famous National Memorial Chorten of Third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, which is an important religious monument.

We’ll head up to explore the changangkha Lhakhang built in the 12th century, an important temple where parents take their newborn baby for blessings. Now, we head for the Takin Sanctuary crown Jewel of Thimpu where we will see exotic birds and animals; Bhutan’s unique national animals preserving center, the viewpoint of Thimphu valley, Nunnery monastery; this site energizes the soul due to its peaceful environments.

After lunch, we will visit the National Library; located in the heart of Thimphu, where we can explore the antique Bhutanese text and manuscripts are preserved. Our next destination is the Choki traditional art school where ancient arts and crafts are preserved, the Tashichho Dzong, a fortress located about 2 km away from the city of Thimphu in Bhutan, and the folk heritage museum which was established to protect and display the folk of Bhutan. After exploring this beautiful city Thimpu then we will stroll back to our hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, today proceed towards Punakha from Thimphu through alluring forests of colorful rhododendron and fields of dwarf bamboo stunning view of the wonderful landscapes, beautiful pastureland, charming wildflowers, over effusive waterfalls and persistently changing flora. It takes approximately 3 hours of drive to reach the Punakha. We reach at Dochula pass (3,100m) after 45 minutes of our continuous drive from Thimphu; Here at Dochula pass, we can explore the remarkable view of 108 stupas. If the weather permits, we can get a great opportunity to observe the panoramic view of the eastern Himalayan peaks over 6,000m to 7,554m White Mountains. Our route goes down to a low-lying sub-tropical valley after Dochula pass. Now, this wonderful valley of Punakha offers a variety of vegetation as well it served as the capital of Bhutan until 1955 and still, it is the home of Chief Abbot in the winter months.

After then Punakha Dzong built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1637. It was destroyed by an earthquake in 1897 and fire four times. But at present, it has been fully renovated in its original grandeur.

From here, drive for half an hour and hike for an hour to reach Khamsumyuly Chorten which was built by the Queen Mother. Overnight at the hotel.

After a hearty breakfast, we begin our drive from Punakha to Phobjikha via Wangdue Phodrang. Phobjikha is one of the most remarkable sites in Bhutan and also the winter home of the very rare graceful black-necked cranes that migrate every year from Tibet to Bhutan in winter (November-March).

We can admire the wonderful tropical trees and vegetation through our route. After crossing the Pele La pass at 3,300m we reach the impressive 17th-century Gantey Gompa which is situated on a small hill overlooking the valley and surrounded by a large village. Here, we can see the Information center of Black Necked cranes.

After lunch at the hotel, it’s time to hike around Phobjikha valley in the western part of Bhutan and explore some conventional Bhutanese farmhouses. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, drive about 143km to Bhumthang; rejoin the east-west highway to Pele La Pass (3,420m) marked by a large prayer flag and ground is covered with high altitude dwarf bamboo; en route to Trongsa, we can explore Chendebji Chorten where we will take a short break. It was built in the 18th century by Lama Zhida, it is in Nepalese style with eyes painted at the four cardinal points.

After lunch at Trongsa, we will continue our visit towards the famous Trongsa Dzong which is the largest fortress in Bhutan located in Trongsa district then, we will ahead of our drive to Bumthang valley from Trongsa the route ascend quickly to Yuto-La Pass (11,155ft), through our path we can see the beauty of nature which changes to fir-covered slopes, remindful of the Swiss Alps.

Now, we enter the famous valley Bumthang. It is popular for woolen garment weaving known as Yathra. The women weavers make Yathra on pedal-driven looms, following an antique tradition. The Yathra is used to fabricate blankets, jackets, and many others clothes. We will observe some clothes of Yathra weaving. Overnight at Bumthang.

Start our beautiful day by having a lovely breakfast, we can then continue with our guided full-day tour in this amazing valley- Bumthang. It has its own unique identity that captivates its visitors and segregates it from other regions. Bumthang is also known as the Swiss of Bhutan.

When the second Buddha Guru Rinpoche visited the valley in the 8th century, Vajrayana Buddhist doctrine was introduced to Bhutan. The first Buddhists temple was dedicated to the future Buddha, Jambay Lhakhang. it was constructed in 659 by the Tibetan king on the same day as Kyichu Lhakhang in Paro. After some more distance to the north there, we can explore the large and very beautiful temple where Guru Rinpoche used to meditate. It was built around the cave where the body is preserved inside the oldest of the three buildings that make up the temple complex. Kurjey is one of the popular pilgrimage sites of Bhutan. Experiencing the wonderful and magical valley, Bhumthang will be one of the most peaceful visits of our lifetime.

Our next visit will be the Tamshing Lhakhang; a precious house full of attractive Buddhist paintings. Now, we have to walk towards the Swiss cheese factory to observe after exploring the factory, we will return back and stroll around the tranquil markets for some time then, back to the hotel for our dinner. Wake up with the beautiful morning. Having Refreshed! We’ll begin our drive at about 193km which takes approx 9 hours. Through the route, we get a chance to explore Member Tsho also famous as Burning Lake, where some of Guru Rimpoche’s precious metals were found in the 15th century by the Pema Lingpa. This place is very peaceful and favorable for meditation. En route, we will really enjoy the panoramic view of nature with white peaks, colorful flowers, yak, and dense forest. We’ll stop in URA valley for a few moments then stroll around the temple. This URA village has an antiquated look to it because of the paving stone streets and the conventional clothing of the women includes sheepskin cloak.

Senior valley separates Central from Eastern Bhutan which is the least traveled area of the country. Here, we can see the most historic spiritual sights. Eastern Bhutan is one of the most outstanding areas. When we begin our journey to the east, the highway climbs gradually to Thrumshing La Pass 93,800m/12,465ft) along the west to the east highway. The route goes down from Thrumshing La Pass to Lingmithang. It is the most wonderful for multiple reasons. The road descends from 3,800m to 650m passing the amazing pine forest semi-tropical forest and orange orchard.

Now, we arrive at Mongar where we will explore the famous Mongar Dzong. It was built by the Third King Jigme Dorje Wangchuck in 1953. Overnight stay at hotel.

After refresh, we will have a healthy breakfast at the hotel. Today we will begin our drive to visit the modern and marvelous Mongar Fortress. It provides you the most beautiful sights of the grandiose Dzong and impressive statues of the ancestral spirits. Now, we ahead of our drive to Trashingang Dzong which catches our attention with its mesmerizing charm. It was built in 1659 to defend against Tibetan invasions.

After exploring this popular Dzong we will stroll around the town and get some knowledge about the eastern culture of Bhutan. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, we begin our drive towards a small town called Tashiyangtse. It is rich in wonderful Bhutanese paintings, arts, architecture, and myths. We will pass through the small town of Duksum situated on the Drangme Chhu and its tributary before arrival at Tashiyangtse. After some kilometers distance, we can see a large boulder sits in the garden of Gom Kora temple. Another interesting historical saying is that if anyone can climb below the rock and appear from its top then he/she will be forgiven of his/her sins. Duksum is a small weaver’s town where we can explore fantastic and impressive creativity. Now, we will stroll around the remote Chorten Kora Tshechu. It is the most famous and attractive sight for all visitors. Overnight at the hotel.

The most interesting 6-7 hours drive descend south to the Samdrup Jongkhar is about 180km. this path takes us through Kanlung the University called (Sherubtse College-the only one in Bhutan) town; pass the till the village of Khaling where we can have a gratifying experience at the blind school and weaving centre beside the highway. Maximum roads are constructed on hills and lined in places by stone Chorten; a common site is an accommodation raised on stilts and roofed with bamboo mats, the last ridges you will cross in the military camp at Deothang 2,850feet. We drive down towards the town of Samdrup Jongkhar. Overnight at the hotel.
