“Gokyo” this word may be new for you, but those who are familiar with this word know how precious is this. The natural value of the magical lakes named Gokyo is so vast; it is thrilling and one of the most memorable sights in Nepal. This Gokyo valley is rich with its natural beauty such as incredible views of the snow-capped Himalayas, glacial lakes, and close view of Mt Everest. Green forest and chirping sounds of the birds through the way to Gokyo valley make our trek amazing and pleasurable.

As a part of this Gokyo trekking, it provides a lot of variety: the beauty of the dazzling turquoise high-altitude lakes, the largest glacier in the Himalayas named “Ngozumpa”, more than 8,000m peaks we can observe from the top of the Gokyo Ri.

The magical, pristine blue and green Gokyo Lake is actually made up of six bodies of water which is situated at a high altitude of 4,700 to 5,000m.

Spring and autumn seasons are the best for the Gokyo trek. We can see a clear scenic view of nature; the temperature will be warm, fewer chances of suffering from cold and dry in this season. The route of the Gokyo Lake is tougher but less busy. The Gokyo- Everest Base Camp trek links the wonderful trek in the Khumbu region. It is an unbelievable lifetime experience as well awe-inspiring!

Day 1:ARRIVAL DAY IN KATHMANDU

Namaste and Welcome!

An Asia Outfitter Incorporates representative will welcome you with your name at the Tribhuwan International Airport and safely transfer you to your categorized hotel.

After refresh, we will discuss the journey and itinerary. In the evening, we’ll pick you up for the lovely welcome dinner in the Nepalese restaurant of Kathmandu where you will be served typical Nepali cuisine. After having a wonderful dinner we will drop you to the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Early morning wake up! Having refreshed! After having a hearty breakfast, we will head out for our guided day tour of amazing UNESCO world heritage sites in the Kathmandu valley. We will take you to visit the highlights part of Kathmandu valley. These sites provide us the famous sacred Hindu temple ‘Pashupati Nath’ which is one of the most popular holy places in Nepal where thousands of worshippers come to visit with lots of beliefs. We can explore the surrounding area of the Pashupati Nath temple where we get a chance to observe the live cremating bodies on the bank of the Bagmati River.

The second visit is Bouddhanath Stupa which is another most important pilgrimage center for Buddhists. Here, we can see lots of monkeys jumping over the tree with chattering sounds. We feel relax due to the melodious chanting sound as we enter this area, and observe the colorful flags which are flattering.

Now, we will head towards the most famous traditional town named Bhaktapur which is known as the city of Devotees. We can explore the medieval such as courtyards, square. Bhaktapur is rich in its unique culture and tradition, famous for impressive wooden works, metal, and stone wonderful artworks. After having some traditional lunch we will leave this vibrant town. Now, it’s time to return back to Kathmandu and prepare for the next day with your travel consultants. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Early morning wake up! Having refreshed at the hotel we’ll transfer you to the domestic airport to fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft) which is where all Everest treks start. After enjoying the amazing scenic flight of approx. 35 minutes we will land at Lukla airport where we meet the rest of our team. We will have a tea break, while the guide makes arrangements and divide the luggage to be carried by porters. According to your arrival time at Lukla, your guide will manage your lunch locally at a location.

Our Phakding trek will begin with the most beautiful view of Numbur Himal and Phari passing through the Sherpa farm village. We go along with River Dudhkhoshi and onto Thado Koshi, where we will have local lunch with an excellent view of Kusum- Kangaru (6,369m/20,890ft) crossing, a suspension bridge. We have to take a short climb to reach a small village called ‘Ghat’ after crossing a short suspension bridge. From here, almost 1 and half hours of gradual scenic walk we will reach today’s destination ‘Phakding village’ for an overnight stay at Lodge. Either we can take rest after 3-4 hours of walk or stroll around the village for some local knowledge. Our choice!

Wake up with a glimpse of sunshine! We will begin a steady and steep incline towards Namche after having some hearty breakfast in Phakding. Due to the altitude, our trail will be more challenging today. We have to cross a number of the high suspension bridges over the Dudhkoshi River with stunning views of Thamserku (6,608m/21,675ft) from the Benkar village. Trail continuing crossing the bridge and arrived at a village called ‘Monjo’; just beyond it there we can see the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park, this was established to protect and preserve our natural resources and wildlife reserve. Here, our trekking permit will check and keep all the records of all visitors although local trekking staffs.

The walk gets precipitous all the way to Namche Bazar, and if the weather supports us then we can explore the impressive view of Kwangde peak and sister peaks towards the east. The first glimpse of Mt. Everest makes our trail more interesting and awe-inspiring!

A closer view of Lhotse and Tawache peak can be observed through the way to Namche. Finally, after 6 hours of our adventurous walk, we reach the colorful houses of Namche Bazzar for an overnight stay. It is an amazing location to stock up on supplies as there is a number of snack shops, trekking gear, and lots of restaurants. Now, we will settle into our accommodations and take a rest after having some tasty dinner.

Today, we have full-day leisure for acclimatizing to the new altitude which is an ideal place to explore; we can stroll around the colorful market where we can visit tea shops, plenty of lodges, and other varieties of shops. Due to the only single market in the surrounding areas, people come to shopping their basic needs on the day of Saturday. Also, we can explore the famous sites of Namche ‘Sherpa Museum’ where we can learn about the culture and traditions of Sherpa people, and the wonderful history of mountaineering or we can choose to hike up to the famous destinations ‘Everest view Hotel’; from here we can explore the panoramic view of the world’s highest peak. After observing the stunning Himalayan peaks we will return back to our hotel for overnight.

Today we’ll head towards the Dole after strolling around the Namche. Our walk begins with a gentle climb to Kyangjuma village; from here we can observe the breathtaking view of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtega. Due to the altitude gradual walk with a few short ups and downs makes our trail a little bit more challenging until we reach Mong La (a small settlement).

On our lucky day, we can explore some of the mountain goats, and musk deer through the route. It takes approx. 6 hrs to reach Dole from Namche Bazaar where we can find a small place with some teahouses for overnight stay.

Today begins our trail to Machharmo with a steep climb through the ridge just above Dole. The path is surrounded by the thorny bushes as we climb towards the pretty hamlets of Luza via Lhabarma. The astonishing view of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku will make us amazed and captivated through the way. We will reach Machharmo (4,410m) after crossing the sandy spurs. It takes almost 4 hours to reach our today’s destinations ‘Machharmo’ overnight. We can find some good condition hotels at Machharmo; from here we can view the fascinating White Mountains. We will spend some moments exploring all the stunning peaks and scenic beauty of these areas, and visit the Himalayan rescue association after we check into our hotel.

We onwards the trekking is charmingly cool as we start to hike up to the ridge and can be seen panoramic nature beauty both down the valley to Khangtenga and Cho-Oyu (8,153M) to the north side. After we pass through the Pangram (4,390m) we walk gently downwards to the river bank before hiking up to the Ngazumpa Glacier and on towards magical valley ‘Gokyo’ and the mystical sight of Dudh Kunda’s Mediterranean blue waters set among the outstanding background of the surrounding white mountains. Before we reach the Gokyo, our trail follows the second lake ‘Longponga (4,690m) where we can probably see the Lama Foot prints on a stone. Now, we will spend some moments here by enjoying the Lake view and continue our walk to the Gokyo valley (4,750m) which located on the border of the third lake. After we reach Gokyo, we settle into a teahouse with comfortable bedrooms for a night's stay. We will go exploring around the Lakeside after having some lunch; the Remarkable view of the Lakeside makes us amazed and mesmerized!

Morning wake up in the lap of the Himalayas! Today, we have full-day leisure at Gokyo or get an opportunity to explore the eye-catching scenery all around up to the fifth beautiful lake passing another wonderful fourth magical lake. From the fifth lake, we get a chance to observe the magnificent view of the world’s highest Mt. Everest and Cho-yu with a lake view in the Himalayas. This unparalleled glory and marvelous blue lake surpass beyond all human imaginations!

Experiencing the biggest glacier in the world called Ngazumpa glacier on the north side with Cho-yu base camp is an amazing opportunity that we get once in our lifetime. It makes us feel proud to be there in the magical land of Gokyo valley. Stroll back to the hotel. Overnight at Gokyo valley.

Early morning hike up to Gokyo Ri for an amazing view of shining white peaks with the glimpse of a sunrise splash on it. A breathtaking view of Mt.Everest and many other snow-capped peaks from the Gokyo Ri will leave us captivated and mesmerized!

This will be an unforgettable experience; enjoy around the top; from here we can explore the famous peaks which are more than 8,000m (Lhotse, Makalu, and including world’s highest peak Mt.Everest). After collecting the fantastic experience from the top of the world then return back to Gokyo for breakfast. Now, we have to ascend our trail to Thaknak for a night's stay. On the way to Thaknak, we will have a pleasurable walk on the glacier after passing through the second lake. Overnight in Thaknak.

Today, we’ll head our trek early in the morning (4-6 am) towards the Cho-La Pass which is also another show-up of this trek. Trek from the Thaknak to Dzongla is the toughest trek as we compared to the other days due to the steep and involves a glacier traverse on the eastern side. This is the high passes wonderful and challenging trek that’s why we need to be very careful as the walk is vertical. Due to the icy rocks, we feel difficult to walk on this route. Our walk ascends through a ravine and a rocky path; continuously climb up from Phedi.

Before we reach Dzongla, we need to passes through some crevasses; the beautiful pyramid ‘Ama Dablam’ is shinning over the mountain range on our south and Loubuche is welcoming us in the east with its beautiful looks. Now, we reach Dzongla for a night stay at Lodge.

Marching ahead along the moraine of the glacier to Lobuche (4,910m) for lunch. Exploring the wonderful beauty of Kalapathar and Pumori will make our trail more interesting and pleasurable.

We will get another fantastic opportunity to observe the panoramic view of Mt. Nuptse en route along the Gorekshep. The windy and rocky route makes our trek more difficult and challenging but it offers the magical view of the glacier with white dazzling peaks, and an eye-catching view of the giant Mt. Everest convert our thrilling trail into an enjoyable trail.

After we arrived at Kalapathar at a higher elevation for a night stay then we may feel a little bit more difficult but interesting experience while we stand on the top and get a chance to explore. One important part is that all the trekkers must be sincere with the higher altitude. Overnight stay at Gorekshep.

After a lovely breakfast at Gorekshep, we begin our adventurous trek to our targeted destination ‘Everest Base Camp’ which lies in the Khumbu region. The path from the Khumbu ice-fall can be misleading that’s why it is so important that we have to follow our lead Sherpa actively. Every year we can find new changes in this route towards EBC due to the movements of glaciers and feel a little bit tougher to walk due to thin air at high altitudes. Continuing our walk by enjoying this thrilling experience of high elevation passing through rocky dunes, debris, and brooks until we reach Everest Base Camp. Everest Base Camp is lively with commotion during the high expedition season where we can observe the number of colorful tents of mountaineers (especially in the spring).

Finally, we reach the Everest Base Camp after 2-3 hours of our walk; from here we can get an amazing opportunity to explore the close view of different white peaks (Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori). We will return back to Gorekshep for a night's stay after spending a grand time here in the mystic land of Nepal. Overnight at Lodge.

We begin our trek early in the morning; the route will be a steep climb up to the top ‘Kalapathar’. It takes 2 hours to arrive there at Kalapathar which is a small rocky peak; from here we can explore the close magnificent view of the giant Mt. Everest; we will feel as proud as we achieve the moment that we are being dreamed from the starting day of our trekking. This incredible sight from this spot is something to appreciate and we feel it’s worth the challenging climb up to here and get a chance to feel at the top of the world. From this high elevation we can see glacier sweeps below us to the southern part of Khumbu with lots of panoramic scenic beauty, and also can explore the Everest Base Camp below on the moraine of Khumbu Glacier. These all exploration from the top will be the memorable lifetime experience that leaves us captivated and magnetized!

Now, stroll back to Gorekshep; have some breakfast; we will continue our trail descend towards the Dhugla then go straight up the hill to reach an upper route. We will pass through the yak pasture at Dusa at the head of Imja valley. After arriving at Dingboche there we can see barely a farm; this is only the place in Khumbu where barley farming can be seen. We can stroll around the village and enjoy all these farming areas with natural beauty then back to the hotel for a night's sleep after local dinner.

From Dingboche, our trail gives us pleasure all the way to Tyangboche and the track will be easy heading downhill to a lower elevation. The route towards the Panboche village offers us better views of several stupas, mani walls, and the small village then further down to Tyangboche is one of the most fantastic places where we can explore the huge monastery and trail beneath the towering stunning peaks Ama Dablam, world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse and many more incredible high mountains all around us. This makes our trail more interesting and enjoyable.

Now, we arrived at the beautiful areas where we can explore its natural beauty with impressive monuments. Tyangboche is one of the famous destinations in our trekking where we can see the large field with campsites, teahouses, and lodges. Overnight stay at Lodge.

When we open our eyes to a starless sky on this beautiful morning; here we can see a wonderful winter day in the Himalayas; is greeting us with its fresh and cool air. With lots of curiosity, we’ll head towards the colorful settlements ‘Namche Bazaar’. It is the largest village in the Himalayas.

Today, our trail goes down to Phungithanka; a small village with few teahouses. We walk through the amazing forest of Rhododendrons, Magnolia, Silver fir, Blue Pines, and Birch trees which makes our trek fantastic and more interesting.

Experiencing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River trail ahead to the Sanasa; here we will spend some moments exploring its beauty then we will return back to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

After, exploring 16 days on the top natural beauty that the Himalayas has to offer, it is time to end up our Gokyo and Everest Base Camp Trek. Today we’ll have a long and last-day trail return back to Lukla; the route will ahead down to Lukla. Our route won’t be too technical but we have to deal with several sections of stairs and an incline walk and due to the mixture of stone steps and dirt pathways our walk will be difficult. Experiencing the suspension bridge through our route and continue walking towards the Phakding for a lovely Lunch.

Throughout this portion of the trail, we will get a chance to explore the amazing lush green scene, stunning mountains vista, and a small local Sherpa village. After a long trek (7-8hours) we reach Lukla. Lukla has enough accommodations for a night's stay. After check in to our hotel, our guide will re-confirm our flight ticket then, we can stroll around the areas before dinner and back to the hotel for a night's sleep.

Normally, we will board a scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu in the morning due to the windy weather in the afternoon. After 40 minutes we will arrive at Kathmandu then our guide will settle us to our categorized hotel by private van. Rest day; stroll around the market before dinner. Overnight stay at hotel.

This day specially planned for any delays. Flights fly from Lukla early in the morning and they ‘fly by sight’ it means if there is bad weather in Lukla and Kathmandu, then our flight will be a delay.

If there is good weather, we will arrive at Kathmandu on a regular day without any delay. Then, we have an extra day to explore the vibrant city ‘Kathmandu’. Today is the free day to do as we wish! We can go shopping or can visit the spa to relax or sightseeing in Kathmandu valley. In the evening, Asia outfitter will take us for a farewell dinner in a typical Nepalese restaurant.
