Day 1:ARRIVAL DAY AT PARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND DRIVE TO THIMPU.

After a thrilling landing at Paro International Airport due to one of the world’s challenging airports. You will meet our company’s representatives who warmly welcome you and then take you to the hotel for some delicious lunch and briefing about the detailed itinerary at the same time. Now, the tour begins with the wonderful city, ‘Paro.’

Paro valley is one of the popular sites of Bhutan where we can explore its natural beauty, wonderful farmland, historical monuments, and typical Bhutanese village. Visit the famous ancient ‘Watchtower’ where you can explore the amazing ‘National Museum’ also inside the Tower. In 1968 the third king of Bhutan had an idea of turning the old Tower into a National Museum. It displays hundreds of antique Bhutanese artifacts and artworks. Unfortunately, a huge part of the Tower collapsed due to the earthquake in 2010. Since 2014, old Watchtower has been under renovation. Nowadays, some of the remaining collections such as extraordinary collections of religious objects, thangka paintings, interesting collections of terrifying masks, traditional jewelry, and amazing stamps collections are visible.

Another popular site of Paro is ‘Ringpung Dzong’ which is listed as a tentative site. It is a large Buddhist Monastery and Fortress. After exploring the wonderful sites you will stroll around the Paro town then drive towards the capital city of the happy kingdom ‘Thimpu’ by a private vehicle. Approx. 1hour 30 minutes of nature evening drive you will reach Thimpu. You can observe some local villages and their farmhouses through the route. These interesting nature drives overlooking the fantastic view of landscapes. When reaching Thimpu, your guide will settle you to your categorized hotel. Wake up with the fresh morning, have some hearty breakfast then drive to the famous Buddha point. It offers you an eye-catching view of the entire Thimpu and the world’s tallest statue of the Buddha named ‘Shakamuni’. Memorial Chorten ‘The Whitewashed Chorten’ is another destination which is richly painted with sun-catching golden tip was built in the memory of Third Druk Gyalpo in 1974. It is an iconic monument situated close to the center of Thimpu. Visit old Changangkha Temple, Takin Zoo, where wildlife or national animals are preserved, and the famous tourist attractions viewpoint, ‘Sangaygang’. After exploring this beautiful hilltop your guide will take you back. On the way back, you will stop at the nunnery, the Folk Heritage Museum, (this museum will provide you a glance of the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle, wonderful collections of typical household tools, and equipment), and Textiles Museum; is a part of a Royal Textile Academy, showcasing the different types of Bhutanese textiles, and makes you appreciate the complicacy of different purpose. Now, your guide will take you to visit the Taschichho Dzong. It is the offices of the king, the secretariat, and the minister of home affairs and finance. The three to four hours of nature drive from Thimpu to Punakha. After a regular drive of 45 minutes, you will reach one of the most popular sites of Bhutan, ‘Dochula Pass’ (3,100m). Dochula Pass is one of the famous scenic destinations for tourists which provides an incredible view of the entire eastern snow-laden Himalayas range and an impressive view of multi-colored flags. This Pass is renowned for its plenty of species of exceedingly amazing flowers and 108 Chortens excellently constructed around a mound. Now, it’s time to descend towards the sub-tropical valley of Punakha; it is the ancient capital city of Bhutan and still possesses the country’s main wealth in the form of Buddhist relics. The same looks like a huge ship on an ocean floor from afar, belted by two rivers, the castle fortress also illustrates the best specimen of Bhutanese architecture.

After having lunch in a small village, you will get a chance to stroll around the farmlands, observe the ripening paddy fields to the ‘Temple of Fertility – ‘Chimi Lhakhang’ which was constructed in the 15th century then back to your hotel for a night stay.

Passing through the local village Nobding the route is gently up to the Lawala Pass . You will explore the forest of dwarf bamboo in high altitude, the stunning beauty of the snow-capped mountains, maximum areas are covered with the colorful eye-catching varieties of flowers such as rhododendrons, magnolia, fir, and pine forest. Gangtey valley is also known as Probjikha which is situated at 3,000m; one of the most impressive destinations for visitors in Bhutan. It is very popular for the endangered black-necked crane.

Now, your guide will take you to explore the Gangtey Gompa at an altitude of 2,800m; the only ancient Nyingmapa monastery which is situated in western Bhutan. It looks like a small Dzong. Night stay at Gangtey.

After breakfast, you will visit ‘Wangdue Phodrang’ (one of the famous sites of Bhutan) before driving for Trongsa. It was built in 1638 by the Zhabdrung. It is destructed due to the earthquake of 2012, now it is under construction. If time supports you then your guide will take you to see the White-Bellied Heron (one of the rarest birds in the world).

Now, begin your journey to the Trongsa. The route towards Trongsa is a gentle slope from the sub-tropical to the high land areas with the elevated point at Pelela Pass (3,300m). You can observe the varieties of vegetation through your route. To arrive at the Pass, you will be skirting the boundary of the Black- Necked Crane information center. Pelela Pass is the gateway to central Bhutan; which is marked by prayer flags. You will drop to the bit lower valleys from Pelela where you can get a chance to observe the lifestyle just like semi-nomads totally different from the 21st century.

Have some lovely lunch at Trongsa then visit Trongsa Dzong on the way which is the largest Dzong Fortress in Bhutan located in Trongsa district. It is built without using a single iron nail. After exploring the biggest palace; visit the wonderful Watch Tower, Ta Dzong; is the museum where you can see or get some knowledge about Bhutanese kings.

From here, your drive will continue towards the Bumthang. Half of your drive goes on an upward ascent until you arrive at Yotong La Pass (3,400m). You can stop then take some moment and observe the interesting view of Black Mountain Range then continue your drive to Chumey entering the wonderful picturesque valley named Bumthang. Bumthang is the religious Heart Land of the nation and home of the ancient Buddhist temples and beautiful monasteries. The Chumey is famous for its religious dance and is known for its weaving of the lovely Yathra skills. Overnight stay at Bumthang.

Bumthang valley is the religious heartland of the nation; people refer to it as the swiss of Bhutan. It is popular for its ancient man-made structures, Buddhist monasteries, and temples. An ancient temple dedicated to the Buddha Shakyamuni, Jambay Lhakhang was constructed in 639 A.D. Bumthang indicates beautiful farm fields where you can observe the apples, honey, potato, rice, buckwheat farming, and dairy products.

Your second visit will be the Jakar Dzong which is built by Zhabdrungs in 1667. This dzong (castle of the white bird) overlooks the Chokhor valley. It is the current administrative center for the districts. Now your next visit will be the nine-storied iron castle legendry site named Chakhar built by Sindhu Raja.

After lunch, your guide will take you towards the Tamzhing monastery which is popular for its unique mural paintings. It was built in 1501 by Pema Lingpa who was an artist.

With a beautiful morning, you will enjoy your hearty breakfast with hot syrup of tea/coffee at the hotel then move towards the airport for your paro flight. After your arrival at Paro airport then your guide will take you to visit one of the famous Dzong of Bhutan ‘Paro Dzong’ also known as Rinpung Dzong. It is the largest Dzong- Buddhists monastery-fortress. This dzong was built by Zhabdrung in 1646 AD.

The next visit is to the National Museum. The famous National Museum of Bhutan is located above the Paro Dzong. You will observe historical objects of the country’s evolution from the Stone Age and memorable artifacts. After exploring the museum your final destination for today is one of the most beautiful spots in the Paro valley named Dumtse Lhakhang. It is one of the oldest and the most beautiful temples in Bhutan. The main Chapel has roots as far back as the 7th century, with other man-made structures and a golden roof added in 1839 by the governor of Paro. Morning wake up! Have some hearty breakfast. To acclimatize you a hike to the famous site Taktsang Monastery which is also called Tiger’s Nest; is a sacred Vajrayana Himalayas famous Buddhists site located at an elevation of 3000m. It takes approx.3 hours to reach. Though the famous Tiger’s Nest is constructed into a steep rock’s rock face, we can view it from the different sides like the northwest trail via the dense forest, likewise south and north path. Due to the interior beauty such as golden idols, the golden dome, and glorious light maximum numbers of visitors come to explore. The large statue of Tiger carved into the rock in the hall of thousands Buddha provides you wonderful impressions. On the way, observe the ruins of ‘Drugyel Dzong’ which is known as the “castle of the Victorious Drukpa”. It was built in 16 49 by Tenzin Drukdra. Now it’s your time to return back hotel and at the time of returning you can get another important site to discover named ‘Kyichu Temple’.
